WordPress can be used to create blogs and websites. There are a wide range of themes that can change the way your wordpress site looks. The main reasons why I choose WordPress over a conventional static html site are that I can log in on any computer with internet to make changes. I do not need html software or an ftp program to upload any changes. This makes it easy when working in different areas. You also have RSS features already setup and because it is a dynamic site there are more pages that can be picked up by google. There are a wide range of plug-ins to help your search engines optimised for the search engines and wordpress blogs can be picked up by search engines very quickly due to the Ping feature.

Premium Themes

There are some great premium themes to make your wordpress blog look like a portfolio website, business showcase, content management system, magazine and just a standard website using pages. These wordpress themes range in price and you can get licences for developers to use on multiple websites. Some people offer these websites as a service and run their own web design business. A lot of these themes are very customisable from the control panel.

Free WordPress Themes

There are two themes which I use very regularly. The Simplistic Blue theme is a very simple theme which allows me to get my content across. It offers a navigation tab at the top as well as a sidebar. Another theme that is highly recommended is the Adflex SEO theme which can be customised so much in terms of design and also seo options.
